Character research images - Hero

I have established my hero archetypes - Dylan, an alsatian and Cindy, a Himalayan cat. Both of who have mutated into human forms via a radioactive explosion. To drive the design I've started to look at the anatomy of dogs and cats for obvious routes to take...

For some more inspiration I have looked at other examples of anthropomorphic cartoon dogs and cats....

Although these characters are great, they don't really represent the overall look and feel for what I'm going for, unlike these final images....
